The Royal Wedding - Jerusalem (HD) (29 April 2011)
Uploading this as the moment was inspiring even to this American! Besides, the BBC's coverage lacked the camera shots of the pride-filled English crowds outside -- and if you ask me, that was the true high point of it.
Jerusalem by William Blake and Charles H. H. Parry as performed at the royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton
NOTE: It seems all American viewers were fed mono audio of the occasion. (Hello, 1951?!) But you can see this same moment in glorious STEREO here:

♦ At the Commonwealth Games, Team England uses "Jerusalem" as the victory anthem from 2010 onwards.
♦ At international lacrosse matches, the England Women's team uses "Jerusalem" as the national anthem.
♦ There have been calls to give "Jerusalem" official status.

BBC Proms - Hubert Parry: Jerusalem (orch. Elgar)

Malcolm Sargent instigated the tradition of the audience singing Parry's Jerusalem at the Last Night, in 1953. Parry's simple 1916 setting of Blake's words, in unison, was later orchestrated by the composer, but it is Elgar's expanded arrangement of 1922 which has held sway ever since.
